There is a lot of hype about Acne Free Products, with some rather amazing claims made as to their effectiveness at getting rid of acne. This range of products is cheaper than the other successful, anti-acne product, Proactiv and according to most reviews it does work as well, if not better than most other acne products.
Acne Free Products offer a basic Three Step System that is great for people who have minor to moderate problems with acne. The products are formulated with time-released Benzoyl Peroxide, which works slowly throughout the day or night, giving you treatment 24/7. The cleanser, which is to be used first, purifies and cleanses the skin, and exfoliates dead skin cells. After rinsing off the cleanser, you are meant to apply the Toner. The toner, which should be applied with cotton, removes both excess oil and the dead skin cells from your face. Finally you apply the Repairing Lotion which is where the real work of killing the acne-forming bacteria.
For those with more severe acne problems, Acne Free Products have a more expensive, 'super pack' called the "Acne Free Severe System". This set basically includes the same items as in the 3-Step System, plus an additional bottle containing Retinol. The job of the Retinol is to clear away keratin build-up, which has a tendency to plug up skin pores that then become a breeding ground for acne forming bacteria. There is also a higher concentration of Benzoyl Peroxide in the Acne Free Severe System products.
It is recommended that you use the Acne Free Products twice a day, morning and evening. You usually buy the complete sets, but if you find that you are running out of one of the items more quickly than the others, you can buy the single items separately. Other points to note when using these products are that you should not expose your face to the sun after applying the lotions unless you cover-up with an SF15+ sun lotion, and that you should be careful not to get the cream on your clothing or linen as the Peroxide can bleach clothing.
Most of the reviews for the Acne Free Products are positive, with the majority of people saying that their acne cleared up after using them. Some people declared that their faces were clear after only using the treatment for three days, while other people said that it took up to two weeks before they noticed a major difference. In all of the cases where treatment was successful, those using the products continued the treatment for the full course of a month at least, even though at times it appeared that acne was breaking out again. The instructions clearly state that it is possible that you will experience another outbreak while using the cream initially as the treatment will draw the bacteria from inside the pores out onto the surface so that they can be finally gotten rid of. Those who gave up when this happened were often the ones who said the treatment was not working for them.
