Portraits & Head Shots
Before photography was invented, people would hire pro artists and painter to make portraits.

Fashion Photography & Tame Glamour Photography
Examples would include the tamer advertisements and articles in Glamour magazine. The stress in this style of photography is displaying garments, hair and make up.
Fashion Runway
Haute couture runway pictures often include minor nakedness as high fashion models generally model braless and don't wear undies to avoid panty lines.

Editorial footage
In this style of photography the shutter-bug is searching for to capture an event, action or something that's going down. Vis modeling, if you were shooting something editorial style, the model would be doing something. Think Norman Rockwell.
Beauty Photography
a kind of art photography where the snapper attempts to make his subject as pretty as practical by controlling a significant number of factors like ; lighting, color palette, demeanour, background setting, pose, etc .

Period Piece Photography
These are photos of a person in historical costumes.
Fitness Modeling
Think Fitness mags here. This would include sports wear, exercise outfits, tight shorts, sports bras, dance wear, leotards, tights, for example. Especially apropos muscle tone, fitness for example. The poses aren't sexually suggestive.

These are photos which so an individual engaged in a sports activity or a performance art. Examples would be ballet stills, pictures of yoga poses, belly dancing, horseback riding, self-defense skills, for example.
This isn't the same as fitness modeling because the person is basically performing the art or sport, not just posing for the picture.

swimsuit & Bikini Modeling
This of course includes bikinis. I'm giant fan of one piece swim-suits by the way and no one ever appears to have them anymore.

Promotional Modeling
Examples would be girls in bikini promoting Budweiser lager, vehicle show girls, attractive costumes at gamer conventions, for example.

Based off the 1950s pin up models, this is style of photography all in its own. Pin up shoots are generally themed, lovable, naively innocent with a small hint of sexual recommendation. Most pin up underwear shoots are less revealing than a common bikini shoots.
Costume Play or Cosplay is composed of footage of folk wearing diverse costumes. This would include sexy Halloween costumes, Sci Fi and fantasy costumes, gothic costumes, for example.
Think Victory strategies here. Sometime times this style is shot with the same lighting and posing as art implied nudes or art nudes. Poses in this style emphasise beauty and are typically not sexually unrestricted.
Art Implied Nudes
Think a Caress soap commercial, lotion commercial or body wash commercial on TV. This style of photography is usually not sexual suggestive.

The poses can be tolerably sexually suggestive, the swimsuits are smaller, the exercise outfits are little and implied nudes are used.

Modern Pin Up would the attractive posters of women that college boys put up in their dormitory rooms.
Art Nudes
Though art nudes show the naked human body, they're not sexual suggestive.

Glamour Nudes
This is the Playboy mag level ; R rated nudity. The photos aren't sexual explicit but are sexually suggestive.
pornography
Penthouse, Hustles, X rated movies, for example. These footage are made with the intention of sexually awakening folk. I do not picture porno.
